The problem

Sound familiar?

These conversations happen every week. WadataHR was built specifically to end them.

I run payroll on Excel every month. I know it is not right but I do not know how to fix it. Every time there is a new rule I just hope nobody comes asking.

I got a demand notice from LIRS last year. I did not even know I was supposed to be remitting differently for my contract staff. The accountant did not tell me either.

When the minimum wage changed I had no system. I spent two days recalculating 30 people manually on a spreadsheet. It should not take that long to do the right thing.

What WadataHR does

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

One roster for every worker type

Full-time staff, casual workers, and contractors all live in one place. No more separate spreadsheets for different categories.

Automatic payroll that stays current

PAYE, pension, NHF, and WHT are calculated correctly every month based on the latest tax rules. No manual updates when regulations change.

Digital contracts before work starts

Send legally sound contracts to every worker. They sign from their phone. You have a record. No paper, no chase, no argument later.

Compliance dashboard that keeps score

At a glance you can see your PAYE status, pending remittances, and contractor WHT obligations. Green means you are covered. Amber means act now.

Contractor and gig worker payments

Record payments to contractors correctly, deduct WHT at the right rate, and keep a clean audit trail. The kind NRS expects to see if they ever ask.

Built for how Nigeria actually works

Pay in Naira. No dollar invoices. No foreign bank accounts. No integrations that break when exchange rates shift. It just works here.

The 2025 Nigeria Tax Act

The rules changed on January 1, 2026. Your payroll process should too.

Revised PAYE bands, new pension rules, stricter WHT for contractors. The changes are real. The penalties are real. WadataHR was built around the new rules from day one, not patched after the fact.

FAQ

Questions we get asked a lot.

If your question isn't here, email us at hello@wadatahr.com

Yes. Wadata HR was built specifically for the NTA 2025 PAYE bands effective 1 January 2026. Tax rates, pension contributions, NHF, NSITF, and WHT are all pulled from a rules table that we update whenever regulations change, so you never have to chase NRS guidance documents yourself. Every payslip shows a full statutory breakdown you can hand to an auditor.
All statutory values (PAYE bands, pension rates, NHF, NSITF, WHT) live in a compliance rules database, not hardcoded in the software. When PENCOM, FIRS, or the NLC issues new guidance, we update the database and every payroll run after that date uses the new rates automatically. You get a notification in your compliance dashboard when rules change.
Yes. Upload a spreadsheet and your entire roster imports in one step: name, job title, worker type, gross salary, state, and pension RSA number. We provide a template to make sure the columns line up. For most businesses, the move from spreadsheet to first payroll run takes under 30 minutes.
Yes, and this is one of the main reasons Wadata HR exists. Most Nigerian SMEs have a mixed workforce: a few full-time staff, casual workers paid daily or weekly, and contractors or gig workers paid per job. Each type has different statutory obligations. Wadata HR handles all of them in one roster, applies the right rules to each worker type, and tracks WHT for contractors separately from PAYE for employees.
Wadata HR calculates the correct employer and employee pension contributions for every payroll run and generates a remittance schedule broken down by PFA and RSA pin. Direct electronic remittance to PFAs is on our roadmap. For now, the schedule is export-ready so your finance team or accountant can process it without manual calculation.
Yes. Federal statutory obligations (PAYE, pension, NHF, NSITF) apply nationwide and Wadata HR handles all of them. State-specific development levies and special taxes vary by state; those are flagged in your compliance dashboard so you know what to remit locally, even if we don't automate every one yet.
Yes. Every payroll run exports as a detailed Excel report showing gross pay, all statutory deductions, net pay, and employer costs per employee. You can also export PAYE schedules, pension schedules, and WHT summaries in the exact format NRS and state tax authorities accept. Payslips are sent to employees by email and stored in the system.
Your data is stored on AWS servers in Ireland (EU-West). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Each business's data is isolated at the database level using row-level security, so no other business can access yours. We don't sell your data or your employees' data to anyone. See our security page for the full picture.
Payslips are emailed to each employee automatically when payroll is confirmed. An employee self-service portal where staff can log in, view payslip history, update bank details, and download documents is on our near-term roadmap. If this is critical for your business, let us know and we will prioritise it.
You own your data. Before cancelling, you can export all payroll records, worker profiles, contracts, and payslips in Excel and PDF formats. After cancellation, your data is retained for 90 days so you can request an export, then permanently deleted. We will never hold your records hostage.

Your team deserves to be paid right. Your business deserves to be protected.

Your first payroll run takes under 30 minutes and shows you exactly where you stand with the NRS.
